Instructional Goals:

  • Enjoyment of books that coordinates with Enrichment Center letter sound program and other themes.
  • The study of literature appreciation and letter recognition.
  • Answer questions about the story, participate with the reading of the story, recognize the letter sounds or theme.


Activities:

  • Reading of story
  • Songs
  • Finger plays
  • Puppet plays

 

Materials:

  • Newsletter from E.C.
  • Books to correlate with letter of the week or theme
  • Alphabet stories: Puppets and picture stories that teach letter recognition
  • Fun with alphabet

 

Big Ideas:

  • Support the school curriculum and assist with its development
  • Appreciation for good literature
  • Development of lifetime reader
