Healthy eating and exercise start with family habits. It is the parents' responsibility to learn all over again how to feed kids....after years of over scheduling, focusing on jobs and careers. Susan and Dr. Marilee Gallagher will discuss with listeners what parents should focus on in order to stimulate healthy growth, good eating habits, and regulated sports and play activity levels. All of these activities are required to prevent childhood and youth illnesses, social and affective disabilities and emotional disorders. Prevention is the absolute number 1 primary factor in raising healthy children in these times of earlier and earlier incidences of childhood diseases, such as Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis, cancer, Diabetes, bipolar and autistic spectrum and more. Dr. Marilee L. Gallagher is the lead physician at University Premier Pediatricians, part of University Hospitals Medical Practices. She practices at both the Mentor and Bedford offices and has admitting privileges at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and UH Bedford Medical Center.

Training and Education – Board certified in Pediatrics, Dr. Gallagher is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine where she is an Associate Clinical Professor as well. Dr. Gallagher served her internship at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital and residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Special Interests – Dr. Gallagher has special medical interest in breastfeeding, school problems and adolescent medicine.
