Dr. Susan Turben invites parents to learn the basics of oral hygiene from two professionals who are dedicated to prevention of childhood oral diseases. They have disturbing news about the American Diet and how families unknowingly contribute to a growing epidemic of oral disease in young children. The preventable disease is called Baby Bottle tooth decay or Early Childhood Caries (EEC.) Susan interviews experts in the fields of preventative dental health and the practice of Childhood Dentistry. Dr. Andrea Miller and Dr. Lisa Richards are dynamic dentists on a mission to change parent’s attitudes and habits regarding sugary foods and liquids, naps and no-no’s in the American child’s diet. Parent-child dentistry is undergoing a transformation into pleasant teaching and learning experiences. Learn how children can enjoy brushing, flossing, cleaning, surgical repairs.
 
Dr. Lisa Richards and Dr. Andrea Miller have both been practicing dentistry for over 20 years. They are members of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, and the Northeastern Ohio Dental Association. They also belong to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Ohio Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The doctors feel strongly about giving back to the community and participate in charitable events throughout the year such as Give Kids A Smile and Christina’s Smile that provide free dental care to economically challenged families.
