- STUDENTS DEVELOP OBSERVATIONAL SKILLS,  AS THEY …

 

1.  Learn to express each “self” through creating and viewing works of art

  • Apply principles of color using color wheel as a tool

            Learn to draw a portrait using contour, line and value drawing

 

2.   Apply principles in the art work of professional artists

  • Perspective
  • Drawing
  • Painting

 

3.  Learn to understand how artists express themselves through their art work

  • Through virtual reality trips into world-wide museum sites
  • Through guest demonstrations
  • Presentation of famous art works on line
  • Fellow student’s works presented

 

4.  Apply media, techniques, principles and theory in art.

  • Experiment with different media 
  • Creativity, motor skills visual learning are stressed
  • Study unique structure and function of art
  • Guests introduce mechanical drawing, computer graphics
  • Printmaker and videographer present unfinished work

 

6.  Evaluate contemporary avatar-style graphics art as art

           

7. Conduct field work that culminates in Composition and Design contest

  • Apply principles and theory of composition and design in paintings, drawings              and prints
